Class 9 students in Telangana write their SA-1 examinations along with the rest of the high school, from 1 October to 9 October 2026. The difference is the timing. Class 9 papers are held in the afternoon, so students have the whole morning for a last revision, and also the whole morning to get nervous. A couple of full-length practice papers written at home this week will help with both.
Here are two complete sets of SA-1 model question papers (Set A and Set B) for every Class 9 subject, in English medium and Telugu medium. They follow the SCERT Telangana Class 9 textbooks and the same question paper pattern used in the SSC examination, which is also how the official Class 9 SA papers are set. All papers are free PDFs that you can download and print.
Telangana SA-1 Examination 2026-27: Class 9 Timetable
The School Education Department has issued the SA-1 schedule for Classes 1 to 10 through proceedings Rc. No. 7002/EVL/SCERT/TG/2016 dated 15 September 2026. Class 9 follows the same dates as Class 10, but writes in the afternoon session.

Physical Science and Biological Science are 90-minute papers of 40 marks each. There is no exam on 2 October (Gandhi Jayanti) or 4 October (Sunday), but from 5 October the papers come on five consecutive days. Keep your Maths and Science revision done before the first week of October so that the last few days can go to Social Studies and the languages.
Dussehra holidays start on 10 October and continue till 22 October 2026. We will update this post if the department issues any change in the schedule.

The portions below are the lessons usually prescribed for Class 9 SA-1 in Telangana. Last year SA-1 was held at the end of October, and this year it starts on 1 October, so some schools may leave out the last chapter or two. Each paper prints its portion just below the header, so please match it with the list your school has given.

Question Paper Pattern
Every paper has two parts. Part A is written in the answer booklet, and Part B, the objective part, is answered on the question paper itself in the last part of the exam. Getting used to this now makes the switch to the SSC examination next year much easier.

The Social Studies paper has a map question in Section III, so practise with outline maps of India and the World. In Maths, Section III includes graph questions and theorem proofs from Lines and Angles and Triangles.

A Few Tips for Class 9 Students
- Since the exam is in the afternoon, practise at least one paper between 1:15 and 4:15. It is a different feeling from writing in the morning, and it helps to know how your concentration holds up after lunch.
- Keep the last 30 minutes for Part B. Objective questions look easy, but careless mistakes there cost marks that are hard to win back elsewhere.
- In Maths, write every step of a proof clearly and give the reason for each statement. Marks are given for steps, not only for the final line.
- For Physical and Biological Science, draw the diagrams at least twice before the exam: the plant cell, animal cell, neuron, eye, ear and the ray diagram for refraction.
- In the language papers, the letter, essay and creative writing questions carry 40 marks together. Plan a few lines before you start writing, and keep to the format.
