Class 9 is the year many students in Andhra Pradesh take a little easy. The board exam is still a year away, and SA1 feels like just another school test. But the habits you build in Class 9 are the ones you carry into the 10th public exam, and SA1 is the first proper three-hour paper of the year. A couple of honest practice papers before it makes a real difference.
So here are our AP 9th class SA1 model papers for 2026-27: two separate model papers for every subject, each with its own answer key. They follow the new 80-mark pattern and stick to the SA1 portion of the current Class 9 textbooks. Download links are in the table below. (తెలుగులో వెతికేవారి కోసం: 9వ తరగతి SA1 మోడల్ ప్రశ్నాపత్రాలు, సమాధానాలతో సహా.)
Please note: these are model papers written by our team for practice. They are not the official SA1 papers and not “leaked” papers. The actual SA1 paper is set by SCERT and will be different, but the pattern will be the same.

When is the AP SA1 Exam for Class 9?
SCERT has not announced the SA1 2026-27 timetable yet. Last year SA1 for classes 1 to 10 was held in November (10 to 19 November 2025), so this year’s exam is also expected around the same time. Your school will share the exact dates once the department releases the schedule. We will update this page when it comes.
If you start now, there is enough time to write both papers in each subject under exam conditions and still fix your weak lessons before the exam.

SA1 Question Paper Pattern for Class 9
Class 9 does not follow the 100-mark SSC paper. From 2025-26, SA1 papers for Class 9 are set for 80 marks, with four sections and a choice only in the last section. Physical Science and Biology are two separate papers of 40 marks each. Our model papers follow the same layout.
| Subject | Marks | Questions | How it is divided |
|---|---|---|---|
| Telugu, Hindi, English, Maths, Social | 80 | 33 | Section A: 20 × 1 (objective), Section B: 4 × 2, Section C: 5 × 4, Section D: 4 × 8 (internal choice) |
| Physical Science | 40 | 17 | 10 × 1, 3 × 2, 2 × 4, 2 × 8 (internal choice) |
| Biological Science | 40 | 17 | 10 × 1, 3 × 2, 2 × 4, 2 × 8 (internal choice) |
Our papers are set for 3 hours (80-mark papers) and 1 hour 30 minutes (each science paper). Check your exam timetable for the exact timing in your school.
Twenty one-mark questions carry a quarter of the paper. Students who rush through Section A thinking it is “easy marks” lose more than they expect, so practise it as seriously as the long answers.
What is in the Answer Keys
A list of options is not much use when you are correcting your own paper. So each key tells you what a full-mark answer looks like.
- Maths and Physical Science: every problem is worked out step by step, with the marks for each step shown.
- Biology and Social: value points for every 2, 4 and 8-mark answer, and location hints for the map question.
- English: answers for the grammar items, model answers for the short questions, and the points a full answer should cover in letter, diary, conversation and story questions.
- Telugu and Hindi: సంధి, సమాసం and జాతీయాలు / मुहावरे with sentences, answers to the unseen poem, and value points for lesson answers, letters and essays.
Teachers can use the keys for valuation too. Each one starts with a short note on how to award marks.
How to Use These AP 9th Class SA1 Model Papers
Reading a model paper and then reading the key feels like revision, but it teaches very little. Try it this way.
- Finish the lessons first. Keep the model papers for the last two or three weeks before SA1.
- Write Set 1 in one sitting. Set a timer for the full exam time. No textbook, no guide, no phone.
- Correct it yourself with Answer Key Set 1. Be strict with yourself. If you missed a step or a point, cut the marks.
- Note down what went wrong. It is usually the same few things: a formula, a definition, a grammar item, map pointing.
- Work on only those topics, then write Set 2 a few days later and check it with Answer Key Set 2.
A few things that cost Class 9 students marks in SA1:
- Section D has a choice in every question. Read both options before you start writing, not after.
- In Maths, write the steps even for small sums. A correct answer with no working may not get full marks.
- Science answers with diagrams (cell, tissues, distance–time graph) need clear labels. Labels carry marks.
- In Social, the map question is eight marks. Practise on a blank outline map, not by looking at the atlas.
- In Telugu and Hindi, letters lose marks for missing format: place, date, greeting and closing.
Class 10 Students
We have also put together two model papers and answer keys for every Class 10 subject on the SSC pattern. See Andhra 10th SA1 model question papers 2026-27.

If you spot a mistake in any paper or key, please let us know in the comments. We will fix it. All the best for SA1.
