Summative Assessment-I for Telangana schools starts on 1 October this year, a good three weeks earlier than last year. For Class 10 students that means Maths on the very first day and very little breathing room before it. To help with the last stretch of revision, we have prepared two full sets of SA-1 model question papers (Set A and Set B) for every Class 10 subject, in both English medium and Telugu medium.
All the papers follow the current SCERT Telangana textbooks and the SSC question paper pattern, so students get used to the format they will face again in March. Telangana SA-1 Examination 2026-27: Dates and Timings
The School Education Department has fixed the SA-1 examinations for Classes 1 to 10 from 1 October to 9 October 2026. Schools close for Dussehra right after, from 10 October to 22 October.
Class 10 papers begin at 9:15 AM. The three-hour papers end at 12:15 PM, while Physical Science and Biological Science are 90-minute papers written on separate days.

Notice that the order is the reverse of the SSC public exam this time. The core subjects come first and the languages are at the end. There is a gap day before Physical Science (2 October is Gandhi Jayanti) and a Sunday before Biological Science, but from 5 October the papers run on consecutive days. Finish your Maths and Science revision early, because there won’t be much time between Social Studies and the three language papers.
For other classes, Classes 1 to 5 write from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM, Classes 6 and 8 from 9:15 AM to 12:00 PM, Class 7 from 1:15 PM to 4:00 PM and Class 9 from 1:15 PM to 4:15 PM. We will update this post if the department issues any revision.
Syllabus Covered in These Model Papers
The official SA-1 portion is decided through the academic calendar and district-level instructions. With the exam starting in the first week of October, we have taken the lessons most schools would have completed by the end of September. Each paper also prints its portion just below the header, so teachers can see at a glance what is covered.

If your school’s portion is a chapter shorter or longer, simply skip or add those questions while practising. The pattern stays the same.
Question Paper Pattern
Every paper has two parts. Part A is written in the answer booklet. Part B (objective questions) is answered on the question paper itself in the last part of the exam, the same way it is done in the SSC public examination.

How to Get the Most Out of These Papers
- Write at least one full paper at home in the real exam time. For Class 10 that means sitting from 9:15 to 12:15 without breaks, the way you will on the day.
- Keep the last 30 minutes for Part B, as in the actual exam. Many students lose easy marks because they rush the objective questions.
- In Physical and Biological Science, practise the diagrams separately. A neat, labelled diagram often carries half the marks of a 4-mark answer.
- For Maths, check your answers by substituting back wherever you can, especially in linear and quadratic equations.
- Teachers can use Set A as a pre-test in class and give Set B as homework before the exam week.
