KEAM 2026- Instructions for candidates
The Engineering and Pharmacy Entrance Examinations for the 2026-27 academic year are scheduled to be conducted from 17.04.2026 to 22.04.2026.
All students who have applied online for the entrance examination should log in to their ‘Candidate Portal’ using their application number and password to download their Admit Card.
Instructions to be followed by Students:
- Students must report to the examination center on the day of the exam at the time specified on the Admit Card downloaded from the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations’ website: www.cee.kerala.gov.in.
- After the reporting time concludes, a Mock Test will be conducted to familiarize students with the Computer Based Test (CBT) method. This will be followed by the Computer Based Entrance Examination.
- The Engineering Entrance Examination (Objective model) will have a duration of 3 hours with 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). The Pharmacy Entrance Examination will have a duration of 1.30 hours with 75 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ).
- Students appearing for the exam must compulsorily bring a photo identity proof (Aadhaar Card / Voter ID / Driving License / PAN Card / Passport, etc.).
- Electronic devices such as calculators, mobile phones, and smartwatches are not allowed. Once reported at the center, students will not be permitted to leave before the examination ends.
- Parents are not allowed to enter the building where the online examination is taking place.
- Students must carry essential items like pens and pencils. These should not be shared with others in the examination hall.
- Students must sit only in the seats allotted for the examination.
- Instructions from the invigilators must be strictly followed.
- Students must appear at the center exactly at the reporting time indicated on the Admit Card.

Scheme of the Examination:
- The Engineering Entrance Examination will be objective type with Multiple Choice Questions and based on single response. For each question, five suggested answers would be given, of which only one will be the MOST APPROPRIATE RESPONSE. The candidate will have to select and mark the alphabet (A, B, C, D or E) corresponding to the most appropriate response in the OMR Answer Sheet.
- The question paper for objective type examinations will be given in the form of Question Booklets. Candidates will be permitted to take the question booklet with them at the end of examination
- For Engineering Entrance Examination, each Paper will have 120 questions to be answered in 150 minutes.
Scoring, negative marks:
For each correct response in the Engineering Entrance Examination, the candidates will be awarded FOUR marks, and for each incorrect response, ONE mark will be deducted from the total score. For each paper, in the event of failure to answer a question, (that is, no response is indicated against a question in the answer-sheet) no deduction from the total score will be made marks.
The standard of the Examination:
The standard of the Entrance Examination will be that of Higher Secondary or equivalent examinations.
