Class 9 has a new set of NCERT textbooks this year — Exploration for Science, Ganita Manjari for Maths, Understanding Society for Social Science, Kaveri for English and Ganga for Hindi — and that means the old model papers floating around online are no longer much use. We’ve put together fresh half-yearly model papers for every subject, built specifically around these new books, so students actually get to practise on material that matches what’s being taught in class right now.
Each paper is written from scratch, follows the current CBSE pattern section by section, and comes with a full answer key. We’ve also kept the questions close to how a real exam feels — real-life situations rather than the same recycled lines, a proper mix of easy, moderate and tough questions, and enough variety that solving them actually builds understanding instead of just memory.
What you’ll find in each paper
Science, Social Science, English and Hindi each get two full model papers; Maths now has two as well. Every paper is 80 marks, runs for 3 hours, and comes with its own answer key. Since a couple of these textbooks are brand new for 2026-27 and CBSE hasn’t published an official half-yearly portion for them yet, we’ve gone with the chapters that most reasonably fall in the first half of the year — details are noted under each subject below.

A few questions people usually ask
Are these based on the new textbooks, or the older ones?
The new ones. NCERT rolled out a completely different set of Class 9 books this year, and every question here is written for those, not the earlier editions.
Is the half-yearly portion official?
Not entirely — these are brand-new books, and CBSE hasn’t put out a formal half-yearly syllabus split for them yet. We’ve gone with a reasonable, commonly expected portion for each subject, which we’ve noted against each paper above.
Do they come with an answer key?
Yes, every paper does, with the marking points shown so you can see where marks would actually be gained or lost, not just the final answers.
