Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs) are co-educational residential schools fully financed and administered by Government of India through an autonomous organization, Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti. These schools are established to provide good quality modern education including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities and physical education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas.

Education in the schools is free including board & lodging, uniform and textbooks.

Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test – 2025

Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti (NVS) has opened registrations for the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Selection Test (JNVST) for Class 6 admissions. Applications for the 2025-26 academic year can be submitted through the official website of Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti.

The last date to apply is September 16.


Applications of candidates who have applied in the  previous years will not be accepted.

The entrance exam will be conducted in two stages: the first phase on January 18, 2025, and the second phase on April 12, 2025.

Eligibility

Applicants should be born between May 1, 2013, and July 31, 2015. Seventy-five percent of the seats are reserved for rural students, who must have passed 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades from recognized schools. Students who attended even one day of classes in urban areas during 3rd, 4th, or 5th grades will be considered urban students.

Details of JNV Selection Test 2025

An Entrance examination will be conducted January 18, 2025 to select the candidates for the class VI admissions in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas. The pattern and composition of the entrance exam is as under

Composition of the Test

The selection test will be of two-hour duration and will have 3 sections with only objective type questions. There are 80 questions in all for 100 marks. 15 minutes additional time is allowed for reading the instructions.

Syllabus of the test:

Section 1: MAT- Mental Ability Test

This is a non – verbal test. Questions are based on figures and diagrams only. Questions are meant to assess general mental functioning of the candidates.

Section 2: Arithmetic Test

The main purpose of this test is to measure candidate’s basic competencies in Arithmetic

Section 3: Language Test.
This test is to assess reading comprehension of the candidates. The test consists of four passages. Each passage is followed by 5 questions.

    Sir my daughter wrote Navodaya entrance exam in year 2020 for 6th class but not selected and this year academic classes was missed due to corona. So, is my daughter is eligible to write entrance exam again in 2021 year for 6th class. Please reply waiting for your answer sir.
