Level: Ph.D

Duration: Three years.

Eligibility:

Graduates: Applicants who have been offered a place at Downing College and who have, or expect to obtain, a first class or high second class honours degree or its equivalent from a recognized university.

Postgraduates: Applicants employed by a government department (national or local) or by a parastatal organisation or at present living or studying in a developed country are not eligible.

Doctoral candidates: Applicants must be successful in winning an ORS award which pays the difference between the 'home' and 'overseas' rate of fees

Value: For postgraduate applicants: University and College fees at the home rate For doctoral applicants: A maintenance allowance and a contribution towards airfares.

Age limit: 35 years

General Information There is no special application form and all eligible candidates applying for financial assistance will be automatically considered for a scholarship.
