A03 - Open Science and Innovation Scholarships

 

 

The UK is home to some of the most exciting scientific discoveries including the discovery of the structure of DNA and the creation of the World Wide Web. Modern science cannot thrive in isolation, and if science is to progress there must be collaboration between Governments, interchange between international science communities and closer links between science and business globally.  Chevening aims to strengthen these links by offering scholarships for young Indian scientists to study Masters degrees in the UK in the following disciplines: -

 

  • ·         Mathematics (pure & applied),
  • ·         Physics,
  • ·         Chemistry & chemical engineering,
  • ·         Materials Science,
  • ·         Electronics,
  • ·         Computer science,
  • ·         Biotechnology,
  • ·         Bioinformatics,
  • ·         Immunology & virology,
  • ·         Neurobiology,
  • ·         Agriculture
  • ·         Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
  • ·         Space Sciences and Engineering

 

Level (Qualifications):       Master's

Age limit:                              25-35 years as on 30 November

Additional Eligibility:        In addition to the general eligibility criteria, applicants for this programme should be able to provide evidence of their postgraduate application(s) to a maximum of 3 UK institutions in a related subject at the time of applying i.e. by 30 November.   They should also have at least 2 to 3 years relevant work experience in the field of study. Candidates who get selected for Chevening awards must submit confirmation of offers from their chosen universities to the British Council latest by 31 May.
