INSTITUTE OF ARCHAEOLOGY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

 

 

 

Fields of Study: Epigraphy, Palaeography, Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Pali etc & Scripts and Numismatics.

Eligibility: The fellowship is open to Indian nationals who possess a good Master's degree in Indian History of Archaeology with ancient languages, regional languages and oriental languages including Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Pali etc. upto graduation level; or a good master's degree in ancient languages, regional languages and oriental languages including Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Pali etc. with Indian History or archaelogy.etc upto graduation level and have already been registered for study/research or M.Phil or Ph.D degree in any university/institution in India in any or the field mentioned above. The applications should be sent duly recommended by authorised guide and recommended by the concerned departments of University/Institution.

Age: Not more than 35 years as on 1st December. Relaxable upto 40 in exceptional cases.

General Information

Value: Rs.600/- p.m

Duration: Two years extendable in exceptional cases for another year.

Number of Fellowships:10

Selection: On merit and on the recommendations of Central Selection Committee constituted for the purpose. Other things being equal preference is given to candidates belonging to SC/ST.

Last Date for receipt of nominations from the universities, State Govts. etc is July.
