AUSTRALIAN DEVELOPMENT CO-OPERATION SCHOLARSHIPS (ADCOS)-AUSTRALIA

 

 

 

Fields of Study: Engineering, Technology, Humanities and Social Science.

Applications are invited from Indian nationals on plain paper in the .proforma given below for the award of 30 (Thirty) scholarships on a merit basis under above mentioned scheme for higher studies/research leading to a Master/Doctoral degree. These scholarships are not admissible for post-doctoral studies.
Value: Scholarships cover: (a) full tuition fees; (b) economy class airfare (Both ways) to Australia and back; (c) Living allowance to cover housing and food for the duration of the scholarships (this is also payable during semester and annual break).
Age: Candidates for Master's Degree and for Ph.D. should not have exceeded 30 and 40 years of age respectively by January.
Eligibility
(a) For Masters Degree: One must have completed Bachelors Degree in one of the subject fields indicated below securing 55% or above marks in Humanities and Social Science group and 60% or above marks in Engineering, Technology and Science group. Candidate should give one page academic justification for going to Australia for Master Degree.
(b) For Ph.D.: One must have completed Masters Degree in one of the subject fields indicated below securing 55% or above marks in Humanities and Social Science group and 60% and above marks in engineering, Technology and Science group. The candidate is required to enclose his/her proposed study programme in Australia in minimum 500 words specifying title, hypotheses or research, methodology and Institutions in India and Australia where such studies are done.
(c) The candidate must have completed tertiary education in English Medium.
(d) Those who have already obtained Master's/Ph. D. degree need not apply for the same degree course.
Subject-Field:
Engineering, Technology and Science: Including Aeronautical, Civil, Communication, Electronic, Manufacturing, Mineral Processing and Mining Engineering, Bio-technology, Instrument Technology, Industrial Design, Information Technology, Community Health, Computer Science and Agriculture Science.
Humanities and Social Science: Management Studies, History, Urban and Regional Planning, English Literature, Economics, Environmental Studies, Sociology, Educational & Pedagogy including Educational Administration and Special Education etc.. Architecture, Political Science, Psychology, Mass Communication and Demography/Population Studies.

1. Candidates who have already been abroad for study/training/specialisation either on scholarship or on their own for a period exceeding six months are eligible to apply only if they have been in Indian for at least two consecutive years after their return from abroad.
2. Candidates for Ph.D. degree must furnish a clear and precise programme of study/research (minimum 500 words) specifying title of study. Hypothesis objective of study/research. Methodology (to be adopted). Institutions where such studies are being done.
3. Candidate applying for Master Degree should enclose one/two pages of note justifying their proposed study in Australia.
4. Documents submitted alongwith the applications will not be returned. Hence, Candidates are advised to send only the Photocopies of the certificates etc. duly attested.
Reservation:50% slots of scholarship are earmarked for female candidates
