NEHRU MEMORIAL TRUST (UK) SCHOLARSHIPS
Two
scholarships are offered to Indian nationals for advanced research.
Fields
of Study:
(a) Micro Electronics (b) Computer Science (c) Biotechnology (d)
Economics (e) Mass Communication (f) Management
Period:
(a) Post-Doctoral: For those undertaking Post-Doctoral Research,
Scholarships are granted for one year initially, but may be extended,
with justification, at the discretion of the Governors.
(b) Ph.D. In the case of those candidates wishing to study for a
Ph.D. scholarships are awarded initially for one year and are normally
extended for a second and third year subject to satisfactory annual
reports from the supervisor.
Minimum
Qualifications:
(a) Uniformly brilliant academic record, preferably Ph.D. degree,
intending to do Doctoral or Post-Doctoral studies in the subject
related to the chosen field, or published work of equivalent merit.
Those having a Master's degree should have two years experience
of Research/Teaching higher classes as on 15 February.
(b) Candidates must produce evidence of their capacity for intensive
Scientific lnvestigation/ research or other specialised work.
(c) Only those candidates should apply who have already secured
admission at a British University or Advanced Research Establishment.
They should produce the necessary documentary evidence, (d) A minimum
of two exemplary character references are to be forwarded at the
time of application. Age: Not more than 30 years of age on the 31st
January (Relaxable by two years in the case of Scheduled Casts/Tribe
candidates).

Status:
The value of the scholarship is on a scale appropriate for unmarried/single
candidates.
Passage
Cost:
Cost of passage from India to the United Kingdom and back is provided
by the Government of India.
