SCERT has introduced new textbooks for Kerala STD 10 SSLC students starting from the academic year 2025–26. Students can now access updated notes and study materials based on the revised curriculum for Social Science Part 1 and Part 2. SSLC Social Science New textbook
The Kerala SSLC Social Science textbooks Part 1 and 2 cover a wide range of themes essential to understanding both the physical and socio-economic aspects of our world. The first part begins with “Weather and Climate,” laying the foundation by exploring atmospheric conditions and their impact on daily life. This is followed by “Climatic Regions and Climate Change,” which discusses the major climate zones around the world and highlights the urgent issue of global climate change. The third chapter, “From the Rainy Forests to the Land of Permafrost,” takes students on a journey through diverse natural regions, helping them understand how environment and human life are interconnected.
In the second part of the textbook, the focus shifts toward civic awareness and economic understanding. The fourth chapter, “Consumer: Rights and Protection,” educates students on the importance of consumer rights, responsibilities, and the mechanisms for consumer protection. The final chapter, “Money and Economy,” provides an introduction to basic economic concepts, including the role of money, banking, and economic activities in daily life.
