NERIST Arunachal Pradesh admissions 2011

North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology, a Deemed University located at Nirjuli in Arunachal Pradesh,invites applications for admission to the session 2011-12 to Base (Certificate), Diploma and Degree Modules in Technology stream and B.Sc. in Forestry Stream through NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE)-2011.

Selection Procedure at NERIST AP

Entrance Examination: The NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) is conducted at three Levels, namely NEE-I, NEE-II and NEE-III, for admissions to the Engineering & Technology branches of Technology stream (Base Module, Diploma Module & Degree Module). NEE-II will also be for admission to the Degree Module in Forestry. The selection of students is done in order of merit under various reservation categories. Examination will be held on 30th April 2011 for NEE– II & NEEIII and on 1st May, 2011 for NEE-I.

Eligibility: For NEE-I, applicants should have passed Matriculation or Class 10th Examination or an equivalent examination with Science and Mathematics and should have passed in both Science and Mathematics subjects. Those appearing for these examinations and those awaiting results can also appear in the NERIST Entrance Examination, subject to production of the original pass certificate and marks sheet at the time of their admission, failing which their admission will be cancelled. Upper age limit for appearing for NEE-I, as on 1st August, 2011, is 19 years for General, 24 years for ST/SC/PD and 22 years for OBC and female applicants.

For NEE-II (PCMB) Technology Stream, those with 10+2 PCM/PCMB should have passed in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, separately. For Forestry stream applicants with 10+2 PCB/PCMB should have passed in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, separately.

For NEE-II (Vocational) Technology Stream, applicants with 10+2 Vocational/ITI/NERIST Certificate in the branch/trade, viz,. Farm Machinery & Equipment(FE)/Food Processing(FP)/Construction Technology i.e. Draftsmanship/Surveyor(CT)/Electronics Technology or Electronics Maintenance (ET/EM)/Electrical Tech. or Electrical Maintenance (ET/EM)/Mechanical Craftsmanship(MC)/Automobile Technology(AT)/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning(R&AC)/Structure & Fabrication Technology (SFT) are eligible. Those with 10+2(PCM/PCMB) / 10+2 (Vocational) / ITI / NERIST Certificate are also eligible for admission to Computer Science & Engineering. For Forestry stream, applicants with 10+2 Vocational in Forestry/ Horticulture or NERIST Certificate (in Forestry) are eligible. Those appearing in these qualifying examinations and whose results are awaited may also appear in the Entrance Examination, subject to production of original pass certificate and marks sheet at the time of their admission, failing which their admission will be cancelled. Maximum Age Limit for NEE II as on 1st August, 2011 is 23 years for GE, 28 years for ST/SC/PD and 26 years for OBC and female applicants.

For NEE III, the maximum age limit as on 1st August, 2011, is 40 years for GE, 45 years for ST/SC/PD and 43 years for OBC and female applicants. Applicant must have passed the 3-years’ Diploma course from any Government recognized Polytechnic in the respective or allied discipline/ branch as per Appendix-III of the Information Brochure, NEE-2011, with 60% marks considering the aggregate marks of all the three years or NERIST Diploma Module. Admission will be for AE, CE, CSE, ECE, EE, & ME. Those who do not possess their qualification as per the disciplines/branches mentioned in Appendix-III are not eligible for admission. Admission to Degree Module in Engineering will be to the following disciplines/branches. (i) Agricultural Engineering (ii) Civil Engineering (iii) Computer Science & Engineering (iv) Electrical Engineering (v) Electronics & Communication Engineering (vi) Mechanical Engineering. Those appearing in Final year of 3-year Diploma course may also appear in NEE-III subject to production of original pass certificate and marks sheet at the time of their admission, failing which their admission will be cancelled.

Application Form: Information Brochure containing the OMR Application Form, NEE–2011 for admission through NEE–I, NEE–II and NEE-III can be obtained from Directorates of Higher Education of 8 North Eastern States and Main Branches of Axis Bank for Rs. 750/- for GE/OBC categories and Rs. 400/- for ST/SC/PD categories, up to 25.2.2011.
