CDAC Mumbai CST (Competence in Software Technology) Exam 2011

CDAC Mumbai invites applications for Competence in Software Technology exam 2011 which leads to the admission of the following courses:-

Full-Time Post-Graduate Diploma in Advanced Software Technology (FPGDST) – one-year full time programme

Full-Time Post-Graduate Diploma in Information Security (FPGDIS) – 6 Months Programme

MCA

Eligibility for CST 2011

For E & I Levels

The candidate must meet any one of the following eligibility criteria:

A Bachelor’s degree in any subject.

A diploma in Engineering with a minimum of three years’ formal education after the 10th standard or two years’ after the 12th standard. The diploma should be recognised by a state government or the central government as an engineering diploma.

Other qualifications recognised by a state government or the central government as equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree. In such cases, the candidate should produce proof of Government recognition.

For D Level

B.Sc. in Computer Science or any equivalent Bachelor’s degree in the Computer/IT areas.

Bachelor’s degree in any subject and at least 6 months’ part-time training in software technology, comprising a minimum of 15 hours of work per week, covering basic computer concepts and computer programming in the C language.

Bachelor’s degree in any subject with at least 3 months’ full-time training in software technology, comprising a minimum of 30 hours of work per week, covering basic computer concepts and computer programming in the C language.

Graduates in any subject who have undertaken courses on computers, equivalent to the training in software technology requirement as mentioned in (b & c) above, as a part of their degree requirements. Candidates are required to produce attested mark lists as a proof that they have done at least a one-semester computer course.

Candidates who have completed a 3-year, full-time Diploma course in Computer Science or Computer Engineering after the 10th standard. This diploma should be recognised by a state government or the central government as an engineering diploma.

For G Level

The candidate must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

Four year Bachelor’s OR Higher Degree in Engineering or equivalence

MCA, M.Sc. (Comp Science.), M.Sc. (IT), MCS, MCM PGDST or FPGDST or APGDST from C-DAC, Mumbai or Electronics City, Bengaluru.

How To Apply for CST 2011

Form A-1 should be filled by those candidates who wish to appear for the CST-2011 examination for the first time or for those seeking improvement of earlier CST scores by taking the entire examination once again.

Form A-2 should be filled by candidates who do not wish to appear for the current CST-2011 examination but would like to be considered for courses based on their CST-2010 score.

ONLINE MODE for CST 2011:

Candidates are advised to use on-line mode of application as this will give the candidate a chance to verify the contents filled in by him/her, obtain registration number immediately and also obtain Hall ticket.

The applicant must write the level of examination he / she is appearing for, his/her name and the registration number on the reverse of the Demand Draft. The Demand draft along with three identical passport-size photographs taken on or after 01/08/2010 should be sent so as to reach C-DAC Mumbai before the last date. Candidates must write the name on the backside of each of the photograph.

MANUAL MODE for CST 2011:

Candidates who are not in a position to apply online through our website, can fill in the A-1 form manually downloaded PDF version from the site) and submit it to C-DAC, Juhu, Mumbai with 3 photographs taken on or after 01/08/2010 and requisite fees by Demand Draft as specified in the A-1 form in this brochure.

The crossed DD should be made account payee and has to be drawn in favour of “C-DAC, Mumbai” payable at Mumbai.

The examination fees for different levels are as follows:

On-line Application & Registration:

Level E: Rs.600/-

Level I: Rs.700/-

Level D: Rs.800/-

Level G: Rs.900/-

Manual Application

Level E: Rs.650/-

Level I: Rs.750/-

Level D: Rs.850/-

Level G: Rs.950/-
