Scholarships For Pursuing PG (MA/MSc) in Mathematics by NBHM 2017 notification

NBHM Scholarship 2017 for doing PG in Maths 

The National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM), Department Of Atomic Energy, Government Of India, invites applications for the grant of scholarships to students for pursuing studies leading to a masters degree in mathematics.

Eligibility

Only candidates belonging to one of the following categories can apply.

• Students holding a first class B.A./B.Sc. degree in mathematics or students holding a B.A.(Hons.)/B.Sc.(Hons.) degree in mathematics with at least a second class.

• Students in the final year of the B.A./B.Sc. programme expecting to complete the course by July 2017 with a first class (or, in case of an honours program, at least a second class).

• Students with a good academic record who have already completed, or expect to complete by July 2017, one year of a recognized M.Sc. program in mathematics.

• Students who have completed, or expect to complete by July 2017, three or four years of a five-year integrated M.Sc. programme in mathematics with cumulative marks/grade equivalent to a first class.

The Scholarship

Successful candidates will receive a scholarship of Rs. 6,000/- (Rupees Six Thousand Only) per month, during the two year period of the post-graduate programme.The scholarships are sanctioned for one year at a time and are renewable at the end of the year, subject to satisfactory progress.

Students selected for the award of the scholarship when in the final year of the M.A./M.Sc. or five-year integrated M.Sc. program will receive their scholarship for only one year.

Selection Procedure

Selection will be made on the basis of a written test followed by an interview of short-listed candidates. The written test will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017. The test will be of two and a half hours’ duration and involve questions requiring short answers, primarily in the areas of analysis and algebra, but also in other areas of mathematics covered in undergraduate mathematics programmes.

The written test will be conducted at the following centres:

Zone 1: Chandigarh, New Delhi, Srinagar.

Zone 2: Allahabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Raipur.

Zone 3: Goa, Mumbai, Pune, Vallabh Vidyanagar.

Zone 4: Bhubaneswar, Guwahati, Kolkata, Ranchi, Shillong.

Zone 5: Bangalore, Chennai, Cochin, Hyderabad.

Sent the application form along with a recent passport sized photograph of the applicant affixed to it and a self-addressed envelope, to the Zonal Coordinator of the zone in which the candidate wishes to appear for the written test. Addresses of the zonal coordinators are given below.

The envelope containing the application should be super-scribed NBHM MA/MSc Scholarships.

Each candidate should clearly indicate two centres from the zone in which (s)he wishes to appear for the test, in order of preference.

The All India AYUSH Post Graduate Entrance Test 2017 (AIAPGET 2017) is a computer based test (CBT) conducted by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIA), New Delhi on behalf of Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India, for Admission to AYUSH (Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha & Homeopathy) MD/ MS Post Graduate Courses-Session 2017-18.

The examination shall be held in various test centers at about 20 cities on 06th August 2017 (Sunday).

National Talent Search Exam 2016 notification

NCERT NTSE 2016

National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) invites applications from students studying in Class X towards National Talent Search Exam (NTSE) Scheme of Academic Year 2016.

The purpose of the scheme is to identify talented students and nurture their talent. The scheme covers areas like Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law. It honours and helps talented students by providing financial assistance in the form of a monthly scholarship. For the courses in Basic Sciences, Social Sciences and Commerce, this assistance is provided up to PhD level. For professional courses like Engineering, Medicine, Management and Law this assistance is given only up to Post Graduation.

Eligibility:

All students of Class X studying in recognized schools are eligible to appear for the Stage -I examination, conducted by the States / UTs, in which the schools are located. There will be no domicile restriction.

Scholarships:

On the basis of the National Talent Search Examination, 1000 scholarships will be awarded. The amount of scholarship will be Rs.500/- per month.

(a) Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for Class-XI to XII.

(b) Scholarship of Rs.2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.

(c) Amount of Scholarship for PhD be fixed in accordance with the UGC norms

Reservation:

15% scholarships will be reserved for students belonging to the SC category, 7.5% scholarships for students belonging to the ST category and 3% for Physically Challenged Group of Students.

Selection:

The pattern of written examination for Class X will be as follows:

Stage I examination at the State / UT level will comprise of two parts, namely (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT) and (b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

Stage II examination at the National level will comprise of (a) Mental Ability Test (MAT), (b) Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT).

BINC 2015 notification

Bioinformatics National Certification 2015

Pondicherry University, on behalf of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, will conduct the Bioinformatics National Certification (BINC) examination.

Eligibility: Bachelor degree in Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Agriculture, Veterinary, Medicine, Pharmacy, Engineering and Technology are eligible to appear for the examination. They need not have any formal training, diploma or certificate in bioinfomiatics.

Last date for submission of application: April 30. 2015

Examination consists of two parts:

Part I (Paper I)   : June 7, 2015 (10 AM-12 PM)

Part II (Paper II & III) : June 28, 2015 (9 AM- 12 PM & 2 PM- 4 PM)

Examination fee is Rs. 600/- for General candidates, Rs. 400/- for Women/OBC candidates and Rs. 200 for SC/ST candidates and no fee for physically challenged candidates.

AFMC SSC 2015 notification

Armed Forces Medical Services Short Service Commission 2015

Armed Forces Medical Services invites applications from those who have passed their final MBBS (Part-I & II) examinations in first or second attempt and completed internship, for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC).

Eligibility

The applicant must possess medical qualification included in First/Second Schedule or Part II of the Third Schedule of IMC Act 1956. The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/MCI. Post graduate degree/diploma holders e.g. MD/MS/MCh/DM/DNB/DLO/DOMS/DA may also apply.

 Note: Only those candidates who have completed/will be completing their internship on or before 31 Mar 2015 need to apply.

AGE LIMIT: The candidate must not have attained 45 years of age as on 31 Dec 2015.

Selection process

(a) INTERVIEW: Eligible candidates will be called for interview by a Board of Officers in the month of Apr-May 2015 at New Delhi to assess their suitability and merit for grant of Short Service Commission in the Armed Forces Medical Services. The candidates who qualify in the interview will be subjected to the Medical Examination tests. The candidates appearing for interview for the first time will be paid to and fro sleeper-class railway/bus fare.

(b) PHYSICAL & MEDICAL STANDARDS: Every candidate on being qualified in interview will be produced before a Medical Board duly constituted by DGAFMS for examining his or her medical fitness as per laid down standards. The proceedings are confidential and will not be divulged to anyone. However, candidates declared unfit by the Special Medical Board (SMB) will be intimated by the President of the Special Medical Board the procedure for requesting an Appeal Medical Board (AMB). Unfit candidates should report for AMB within a maximum period of 42 days. Candidates are advised in their own interest to appear for AMB well in time and should not wait for the last date given by the SMB. Candidates are advised to note that DGAFMS/DG-1A has no role to play in Appeal Medical Boards (AMB) and procedure advised by the medical authorities is strictly to be adhered to. Candidates declared unfit by AMB will be intimated by the President AMB about procedure to challenge the findings of AMB. Candidates are also intimated that Review Medical Board (RMB) will be granted at the discretion of DGAFMS based on the merits of the case and that RMB is not a matter of right. Candidates will be considered medically fit only on receipt of approved medical documents. Pregnancy, if detected at any stage, after selection at interview or during pre-commission Medical Examination will render the candidate as unfit and hence debar the candidate from grant of commission.

NOTE: Candidates are advised in their own interest to undergo a preliminary medical check up for wax in ears, DNS, defective colour vision, over weight/underweight, piles, gynaecomastia, tonsilitis and varicocele before reporting for the SSC interview.

EMOLUMENTS: Doctors on commissioning in the Armed Forces Medical Services will be granted the rank of Captain (or equivalent rank in Navy/Air Force) in the scale of Rs. 17160-39100 plus Grade pay Rs. 6100/- plus Military Service Pay (MSP) Rs. 6000/-, Non-practicing allowance at the rate of 25% of the Basic Pay (Pay + Grade Pay + MSP) and Dearness Allowance (total emolument at minimum of Pay Scale at the time of joining will be approximately Rs. 78000/- pm). In addition, entitled free ration, subsidized accommodation and allied facilities shall be provided. PG degree holder will be eligible for PG allowance of Rs. 1500/- p.m. or specialist pay after undergoing the laid down procedure. In addition, officers are entitled to 60 days Annual Leave & 20 days Casual Leave in a year, Leave Travel Concession (LTC), free Medical Services for self & family including dependent parents, Group Insurance of Rs. 40 lakhs & Canteen Stores Depot (CSD) facility etc.

Following self attested documents are required to be attached with the printout of the filled application form (generated at the end of application process):-

(a) Matriculation Certificate (10thClass) as a proof of date of birth.

(b) Permanent/Provisional Medical Registration Certificate.

(c) Internship Completion Certificate.

(d) MBBS / PG Examination Degree / Certificate.

(e) Final MBBS (Pt I & II) attempt certificate.

(f) No Objection Certificate from present employer, if any.

(g) Gazette Notification or any other authority clearly highlighting your new name, if there is any change in the name after matriculation (10thClass).

(h) NCC certificates ‘A’, ‘B’, ‘C’, if any.

(j) One self-addressed envelope (Size 9X4 inches with duly affixed postage stamp for speed post).

ICAI CPT June 2015 notification

ICAI Common Proficiency Test June 2015

Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) invites applications for the Common Proficiency Test (CPT) to be conducted on Sunday, 14th June, 2015 at Various examination Centers, all over India.

Application form

Applications for admission to Common Proficiency Test is required to be made in the relevant prescribed form as contained in the Information Brochure, which may be obtained from the Deputy Secretary (Examinations), The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, ICAI Bhawan, Indraprastha Marg, New Delhi 110 002 on payment of Rs. 1500/- (Rs.500/- towards examination fee and Rs. 1000/- towards cost of application form and Information brochure) per application form. The fee for candidates opting for Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Doha and Bahrain centres will be US $170 (US $ 150 towards examination fee and US $ 20 towards cost of application form and information brochure) or its equivalent Indian Currency.

The fee for the candidates opting for Kathmandu centre are required to remit INR.1850/-(INR 850/- towards examination fee and INR 1000/- towards the cost of application form and information brochure) or its equivalent foreign Currency. Since the cost of Information brochure containing Common Proficiency Test application form includes the examination fee, no separate fee is required to be remitted at the time of submitting the filled in application form. The Information brochure containing Common Proficiency Test application form will also be available in the Regional and Branch Offices of the Institute and can be obtained there from on cash payment on or from 7th April, 2015.

Common Proficiency Test application forms duly filled in may be sent so as to reach the Deputy Secretary (Examinations) at New Delhi not later than 28th April, 2015. Applications duly filled in will be received by hand delivery at the offices of Institute at New Delhi and at the Decentralised Offices of the Institute at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Kanpur, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Pune upto 28th April, 2015.

Application form can be filled online at http://icaiexam.icai.org from 7th April, 2015 (10.00 hrs) to 28th April, 2015 (17.30 hrs) and remit the fee online by using either VISA or MASTER Credit/ Debit Card shall not be charged Rs. 500/- (i.e. cost of application form fee)

Based on the GATE-2015 MARKS and requirement, candidates will be short listed for Group Discussion and Personal Interview. Candidates need to secure minimum qualifying marks in GD & Interview, before being considered in the merit list.

The candidates, who have applied online for GATE 2015, will receive their GATE-2015 Registration Number printed on their admit card. On receipt of GATE registration number, the candidates need to apply on-line for NTPC ET-2015

Candidate belonging to General/OBC category is required to pay a non- refundable registration fee of Rs. 150/-. The SC / ST / PWD category candidate need not pay the registration fee.

State Bank of India has been authorized to collect the registration fee, in a specially opened account (No. 30987919993) at CAG branch, New Delhi, on behalf of NTPC. Candidate has to approach the nearby SBI branch with a printout of the pay-in-slip which is available on the application registration portal. The pay-in-slip printed from the portal should only be used for depositing the fee for proper crediting of amount in the allocated account. On receipt of the money, the bank will issue a unique Journal Number and a Branch Code of the bank collecting the money. This journal number and the branch code are to be filled up by the candidate during online registration.
