What is the pay scale expected for nurses?

The salary in the profession ranges from Rs 6,000-15,000 a month.

As August 2013, the salary range is Rs. 10,000 to Rs. 30,000 a month.
If you migrate to US or Canada, the expected salary is around $67,000 per year, for specific career, it's may vary:
Registered Nurse: $68k
LPN/LVN: $50k
Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist: 135k
Certified Nurse Midwife: $80k
etc
