I am a 2nd PUC (PCMB) student and want to join BCA. Please provide me names of colleges offering BCA and MCA degrees and the scope in this field.

Some of the colleges offering the BCA course in Bangalore are Administrative Management College, Jayanagar,CMR Institute of Technology and Management, Kalyannagar, National First Grade College, Bhopasandra, Padmashree Institute of Information Sciences, Nagarbhavi Circle, New Horizon Educational Institution, lndiranagar,TJohn College, Dickenson Road, Sambharam Academy of Management studies, Jyothtnagar, Bangalore North, etc.

From the year 2004-05, selection for MCA for the colleges coming under all the universities of Karnataka is being made through VisveswaraiahTechnological University, Belgaum through a Common Entrance Examination. By the time you complete BCA, there may be changes in the list of colleges offering MCA, which you will get to know subsequently, please read the newspapers.
To do MCA, you don't necessarily have to do BCA. You can take up B.Sc Computer Science; this will also give you more options for the PG course. If you do BCA, you will have the option to do only MCA. So think about it.
With regard to scope, it depends on your abilities, drive, aspirations and knowledge. Opportunities exist within a wide range of organizations, from large user organizations like Insurance and Telecommunication firms to software houses and small consultancies. With more and more multinationals entering the field and with a good export market, there is growing demand for computers professionals. If you do your MCA from a good institute, I am sure it will offer placements. You can grow in areas such as software testing, programming etc
