sir, I'm a female B.E graduate in Mechanical with 7.3 cgpa. currently im preparing for GATE to get into PSU's. But, from the beginning of my graduation to till now , everyone discourages me saying that mechanical is not suited for girls. But i chose ME and i really liked the subject. i heard many people saying that through GATE examination , girls are given only administrative jobs in PSU'S and mostly girls are not taken in steel plants and NTPC's. If girls get selected in PSU's what kind of work they are given??? I really want to know this. But i have not found any exact answer to this question till now through internet or people.what is the scope for girls to get PSU jobs through GATE and IES also, and what kind of work are they given?????? there is no clarity of kind of work , some people say that go for designing and R&D's...i really want to go in some clear way.. please ,someone answer my question... is it hard for girls to work in psu's???????????
