If some one can help me to solve below numerical urgently.
1-A hollow shaft has an outside diameter of 35mm and an inside diameter 25mm. Compute the torsional shear stress in the shaft when it is subjected to a torque of 560Nm?
2-Compute the maximum allowable vertical shearing force on a wood dowel having a diameter of 1.50in, if the maximum allowable shearing stress is 70psi?
3-A solid cylinder 1m in diameter and 0.8m high is of uniform relative density 0.85.
Calculate the periodic time of small oscillations when cylinder floats with its axis
vertical in still water?
4-A submarine cruising well below the surface of the sea levels a wake in the form
of a cylinder which is symmetrical about the longitudinal axis of the submarine.
The wake velocity on the longitudinal axis is equal to the speed of the submarine
through the water, which is 5 m s -1, and decreases in direct proportion to the
radius to zero at a radius of 6 m. Calculate the force acting on the submarine and
the minimum power required to keep the submarine moving at this speed.
Density of water=1025kg m-3?
5-A compound vortex in a large tank of water comprises a forced vortex core
surrounded by a free vortex. Determine the depth of water at the center of the
core below the free vortex level if the velocity is 2.5 m s -1 as the common radius
of 18cm?
6-An air duct, carrying a volume Q of air per second, is abruptly changed in
section. Deduce the diameter ratio for the two duct sections if the pressure loss
is to be independent of flow direction. Assume a value of 0.6 for the contraction
coefficient?
7-A flat plate is drawn submerged through still water at a velocity of 9 m s-1. If the
plate is 3 m wide and 20 m long determine the position of the laminar to turbulent
transition and the total drag force acting on the plate. Take water temperature as
20 degree C?
8-A second order instrument is required to measure the input signals up to 100Mz
with an amplitude inaccuracy of less than 1%. Calculate the natural frequency
requirements, if the damping ratios are 0.3 and 0.6 respectively. Determine the
phase shift in each case at 50 and 75Hz
9- It is proposed to improve the bandwidth of a piezoelectric accelerometer by
increasing the damping by means of a circuit arrangement. Develop a circuit
configuration (passive or active device) that will perform the required function,
and deduce the side effects of introducing such a system?
10- The deflection of a pressure sensing diaphragm under large deflection conditions
is non-linear with respect to the pressure difference across the diaphragm. Using
this feature to advantage, discuss how a linear relationship between air speed and
deflection can be obtained from a pilot-static tube?
11-The temperature of an oven is raised at the rate of 200 degree C per hour. For the
condition that the indicating instrument must not show an error more than 5 degree
C, what is the maximum permissible time constant?
12-Design a simple power factor meter to operate from 230 V mains. Current
range=1 to 10amps; Power factor range: 0.4 to 1?

13-An A/D converter has 20ms integration
time. What is the normal mode rejection offered by this ADC for signals having
frequency of (i) 150Hz (ii) 145Hz?
14-Q4 It is required to design a chain drive with a duplex chain to connect a 15kW, 1400 r.p.m. electric motor to a transmission shaft running at 350 r.p.m. the operations involves moderate shocks.
(i) Specify the number of teeth on the driving and driven sprockets.
(ii) Select a proper roller chain.
(iii) Calculate the pitch circle diameters of the driving and driven sprockets.
(iv) Determine the number of chain links.
(v) Specify the correct distance.
During preliminary stages, the centre distance can be assumed to be 40 times the pitch of the chain.
