1. Conveying the right message—The main purpose of communication is lo convey the right message to others which may be well-understood by them so that they may carry on their work efficiently.
2. Co-ordination—In order lo coordinate the efforts of all who are involved in running a business, communication is an effective tool. Thus, the purpose of communication is lo coordinate the efforts of the workers.
3. Development of managerial skill—By communicating the facts, ideas, opinions etc. downward and upward the manager learns and understands others. Thus the purpose of communication is to learn from others.
4. Good industrial relations—Communication develops good industrial relations because both parties communicate their ideas to each other and try lo understand the other's view. It promotes feeling of cooperation and good relation.
5. Effectiveness of policies—The object of establishing and effective communication system is to communicate the policies, practices and programmes to other party so that the persons may contact the right person in emergency.
