How many chances are there for a student to appear for JEE Main? Is there any year restrictions?

A candidate can make three attempts in consecutive years. If you have passed 12th in 2011 or 2012 or is going to pass 12th in 2013, you are eligible to appear for JEE Main 2013. If you have passed 12th before 2010 or Is going to pass in 2012 you are not eligible to appear for JEE Main 2013.
