(1) Resistance to Change-Informal organisation is bound by customs, conventions and culture. The
organisation resists those management decisions which threaten its culture or existing relationships
among the members.

(2) Role Conflict and Sub-optimisation—Informal organisation, every one works towards the same
objectives. But when informal groups with different interests and needs develop the quest for achieving
group goals they may lead members away from organisation objectives. Members put their own group
objectives ahead of organisation's objectives. Hence the organisation suffers.

(3) Rumour—Informal organisation sometimes functions as a carrier of rumour.

(4) Group think philosophy—Worker become loyal to their groups. They believe that what they
seek must be good because the group has decided so. Thus there develops a delusion of righteousness.
