Paper I of the examination consists 30 questions from each of the topics below

• Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to the age group of 6 - 11 years]

• Environmental Studies
  

TNTET Paper II have 30 questions each from these compulsory papers

• Child Development and Pedagogy (relevant to the age group of 11-14 years) 
  
• Language (Tamil/Telugu/Malayalam/Kannada/ Urdu)
  
• Language II - English
  

and

60 questions from
a) For Mathematics and Science Teacher: Mathematics and Science or
b) Social Science Teacher: Social Science or
c) Any other Teacher either (a) or (b)
