The Manipur higher secondary examinations just concluded was caused by widespread malpractices as the KYKL extremists had passed on answers and torn pages of books to some examinees and many examinees are debarred from writing the examinations. The educational system of Manipur is in a serious threat as the Manipur University, the only one university in the state is on charges regarding the conducting of examinations and evaluation and publishing of results.

The educational system of the state is so bad that the students passed out from the state do not get admission in other states. 33 cases are there in the consideration of CBI regarding the appointment of the teachers as their educational testimonials are doubtful. CBI is alo looking into the misappropriation of rores of Rupees in paying arrears to teachers.

Many students of the state are complaining about the results published by the university that some time the brilliant student will be get "failed" certificate and vice versa. The cases are not rare in which the results are altered after the issuing the mark sheets, and asked to return the certificates even after they are got selected in other technical or professional institutions.
