Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, under the aegis of National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC), Department of Space, Government of India is a premier Institute in the country with a mandate of imparting training and education in the field of remote sensing and geoinformatics for natural resources management. (C) ISRO-GBP Project on LULC Dynamics at IIRS Dehradun.

Department of Science and Technology of the India, and Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation, Argentina call for the presentation of joint research projects between Indian and Argentine groups, in the framework of Science and Technology Cooperation Programme.
OBJECTIVES:
· To strengthen and to expand relations between both scientific communities, making possible the exchange between Indian and Argentine I+D groups, in the framework of joint scientific and technological projects, selected by the parties.
· Promote the implementation of joint projects able to bound I+D centres with enterprises from both countries.
Eligibility / Project Participants and Subject Areas:
Faculty, Scientists and Academicians belonging to Universities, Deemed Universities and Research Institutes having permanent positions can apply as Principal Investigator (PI). In order to qualify for such funding, investigators are required to have a concrete and sound research proposal on any of the following areas:
The priority areas for this Call as were mutally agreed are given below:
- Biotechnology applied to Agri-food security and safety
- Oceanography and Polar Research
- Medical and Health
- Agriculture and related technologies
- Information Technologies
- Technology Incubators and Productive innovation
- Science Popularization and communication
FUNDING:
The grants-in-aid/subsidies given by DST & MINCYT will be used/addressed exclusively to cover the trip between India and Argentina of researchers affected to specific tasks of the project. The International Travel cost for the scientists including overseas medical insurance, airport taxes will be borne by the sending side including the transportation from the capital city/arrival city to the place of visiting institute(s).
The local hospitality terms for visiting scientists in each others’ host country are as follows:
For Indian researchers: paid accommodation (by the receiving institution) and a daily allowance of Argentine Peso ($) 340 per day in case of short mission up to 15 days, $ 5,200 for intermediate missions of 21 days and $ 6,000 per month missions of more than 21 days duration.
For Argentine researchers: paid accommodation (in a Guest House/Hotel with reasonable amenities) and a daily allowance of Rs.1,000/- per day in case of short term visit (up to 21 days) and Rs. 25,000/- per month in case of long term visit (more than 21 days) towards food and out of pocket allowances.
APPLICATION PROCEDURE:
Joint research projects in the prescribed format duly forwarded by the Head of the Institutions are to be submitted simultaneously, by the Indian Project Leader to the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi and, by the Argentinean Project Leader to the Ministry of Science, Technology and Productive Innovation.
Applications received by both the agencies with all necessary documents shall only be considered.
