A01 - Open Sustainable Development Scholarships
Sustainable Development is at the heart of the UK’s domestic and international policies.
The goal of sustainable development is to enable all people
throughout the world to satisfy their basic needs and enjoy a good
quality of life without compromising the quality of life for future
generations. Chevening offers scholarships for applicants
wishing to study a Masters Degree in one or a combination of the
following subjects:-

Biodiversity Conservation and Natural Resources
Management (including Forestry)
·
Environmental Policy and Regulation
·
Environment Management Systems and Pollution Control
·
Environment Science and Research
·
Sustainable Tourism
·
Town Planning
·
Architecture/Construction (only courses relevant
to overall objective of the Sustainable Development Scholarship)
·
Renewable Energy/Alternative Energy Sources/Energy
Efficiency
·
Transportation
·
Intellectual Property Rights
·
any subjects related to Human Rights (including
LLM)
·
Managed Migration/Immigration
·
Journalism (only courses relevant to the overall
objective of the Sustainable Development Scholarship)
Level
(Qualifications): Master's
Age limit: 25-
35
years as on 30
November 2005
Additional
Eligibility: In
addition to the general eligibility
criteria, applicants for this programme should be able to provide
evidence of their postgraduate application(s) to a maximum of 3
UK
institutions in a related subject at the time of applying i.e. by
30 November 2005.
They should also have at least 2 to 3 years relevant work experience
in the field of study. Candidates
who get selected for Chevening awards must submit confirmation of
offers from their chosen universities to the British Council latest
by 31 May 2006.
