A02 - Open Economic Governance, Finance and Public Administration Scholarships
The
economic links between the UK and India are already
significant and will continue to strengthen as the Indian economy
grows. The Chevening Open Economic Governance, Finance and Public
Administration Scholarship offer awards for young Indians who are
likely to be the key economic decision-makers, influencers and opinion-formers
of tomorrow. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate that
their chosen course of study and their future career plans will
help them to shape the future of India’s political
economy. While not an exclusive
list, study areas include:

Labour Law/Employment Law/Industrial Relations

Public Administration
·
International Trade Economics
·
Development Economics
·
Development Studies

Banking and Finance
·
Public Sector Finance and Regulation
·
Competition and Regulatory Policy

Agriculture Policy/Supply Chain Management

International Relations, with a focus on trade
and investment issues

LLM (only courses relevant to the overall objective
of the Economic Governance, Finance and Public Administration Scholarship)
Age limit: 25-35 years as on
30 November 2005
Additional
Eligibility: In
addition to the general eligibility
criteria, applicants for this programme should be able to provide
evidence of their postgraduate application(s) to a maximum of 3
UK
institutions in a related subject at the time of applying i.e. by
30 November 2005. They should also have at least 2 to 3 years
relevant work experience in the field of study. Candidates who get
selected for Chevening awards must submit confirmation of offers
from their chosen universities to the British Council latest by
31 May 2006.
