IGNEAT 2009- Test for IGNOU B.Tech./ Diploma Admissions

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) invites applications for VERTICALLY INTEGRATED ENGINEERING PROGRAMME (VIEP). This Programme allow students who have passed the 10th Standard, 12th Standard Examinations and also those who already hold ITI certificates, Diploma, B.Sc., BCS, BCA or equivalent, to pursue a higher qualification starting from Advanced Certificate, Diploma and going up to Bachelor?s Degree in Technology.

The programme will commence from January 2010 preceded by an Induction / Bridge Trimester between October-December-2009.

IGNEAT 2009 intends to assess the Analytical Aptitude of a candidate for Engineering Studies. Aptitude tests are special kind of ability tests intended to predict success of a person in a specific occupation or training course.

It shall ascertain the level of performance that can be expected from a candidate having particular qualification.

IGNEAT is an Online Aptitude examination which reduces the examination stress on a candidate and simplifies the entire process of examination.

CENTAC Pondicherry Admissions 2009

Government of Puducherry Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC) 2009-2010 invites applications from candidates seeking admission to the first year of B.Tech., MBBS, BDS, BVSc.&AH, B.Pharm, B.Sc. Nursing, BPT, B.Sc. (MLT), and B.Sc. Agriculture Degree courses for the academic year 2009-2010 and coming under the purview of CENTAC. Applications along with Information Bulletin for admission can be obtained from The Convenor, CENTAC, PEC Campus, Puducherry-605 014, by sending a request along with two self-addressed slips (neatly typed or hand written), along with a crossed DD for:

(a) Rs. 365/- (Rs. 165/-for SC/ST) for B. Tech., Biology based and B.Pharm Degree courses,

The DD should be drawn in favour of The Convenor, CENTAC, payable at Puducherry. Applications can also be obtained from designated Post Offices in UT of Puducherry on payment of Rs. 330/- (Rs. 130/- for SC/ST) for B. Tech., Biology – based and B.Pharm degree courses. Payment by Cheque, Money Orders, and Postal Orders will not be accepted

OTHER STATES / UTs CANDIDATES

(I) Candidates from other States / UTs can seek admission only to B.Tech. Degree course offered by Pondicherry Engineering College; Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineering & Technology, Karaikal, and B.Pharm., B.Sc.(Nursing), B.P.T. & B.Sc.(MLT) Degree courses offered by Mother Theresa Institute of Health Sciences, Puducherry,

(ii) Candidates from other states/UTs seeking admission to B. Tech. Degree course shall apply only with AIEEE marks.

(iii) Candidates from other states/UTs are NOT eligible for applying to MBBS, B.D.S., and
B.V.Sc. &A.H., Degree course.

Indian Navy Cadet Entry Scheme for B.Tech 2009

Indian Navy invites Applications from UNMARRIED MALE CANDIDATES (fulfilling the conditions regarding nationality as laid down by the Govt of India) to join the prestigious Naval Accademy, Ezhimala, Keralaunder 10+2 (Technical) Cadet Entry Scheme

Selected Candidates will be inducted as Cadets for four year B Tech course in Electronics & Communication and Mechanical Engineering at the Naval Academy, Ezhimala Kerala. During the course cadets will be allotted Engineering or Electrical branch. On completion of the course, B Tech Degree will be awarded by Jawahar Lal Nehru University (JNU).

Few cadets after first term may be nominated for B Tech in Naval Architecture from Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT). They will have to appear for Common Admission Test of CUSAT. The successful candidates after first term will undergo four years B. Tech in Naval Architecture and and Ship Building at CUSAT. Thereafter, the cadets will be deputed for a six months course in warship design at Visakhapatnam, followed by 18 months Post Graduate Diploma in Naval Architecture
(DIIT-NC) at IIT Delhi.

The entire cost of training, including books and reading material, will be borne by the Indian Navy. The cadets will also be provided with free clothing and messing.

ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS

Age. 16 % to 19 years (i.e. born between 02 Jan 1991 & 01 Jul 1993. (both dates inclusive).

Educational Qualification. Senior Secondary Examination (10+2 Pattern) or its equivalent from University/Board with at least 70 % aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) and at least 50% marks in English (either in Class X or Class XII).

Physical Standards

(a) Height and Weight. Minimum height – 157 cms with correlated weight as per age.
(b) Eye Sight. The minimum acceptable vision standard for distant vision 6/12, 6/12 correctable to 6/6, 6/6 with glasses. Should not be colour /night blind.

Eligibility for TNAU UG Admissions

A. HSC/ Equivalent  Academic Stream

A pass in the Higher Secondary Course (10+2) or any other examination recognized as equivalent there to and fulfilling the following requirements.

Eligible Subjects of Study in the Qualifying Examination 

1. Mathematics or Botany or Biology as first subject
2. Physics as second subject
3. Chemistry as third subject
4. One Elective as fourth subject,
the elective subject being any one of Biology, Computer Science, Statistics, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Home Science, Nursing or Nutritional Dietetics.

Candidates who have not studied X, XI and XII standards in Tamil Nadu should produce the certificate of permanent residence in Tamil Nadu in the prescribed format (enclosed with application) from competent authorities for considering the application.

B.Higher Secondary – Vocational Stream: 

As 5% of total seats are exclusively reserved for candidates under Vocational Stream, they are not considered under general merit and any of the other reservation categories, if any.

AGE LIMIT for TNAU UG Admissions

Candidates should not have completed the age of 21 years on the first day of July of the admission year for all the courses. However, for Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes there is no age limit

Application can be obtained by post by paying an application fee of Rs.670 (Rs.370 for SC/ST) as Demand Draft drawn in favor of Dean. The filled in application has to be sent to the Dean on or before June 09, 2009 for the current admission. The same application can be used for applying to all 12 undergraduate programs of TNAU. The application can also be downloaded online. The downloaded application should be printed in a laser printer for use. The filled in downloaded application should be attached with necessary application fee of Rs. 600 (Rs.300 for SC/ST) as Demand Draft drawn in favor of Dean.
