New Ncert Syllabi Released

Jan 22: The long waited syllabi for the NCERT classes released claiming it will help to " inoculate a thorough knowledge of love for the country, its rich and long cultural scientific and spiritual tradition, and a strong sense of unity and togetherness."

NCERT convened a review meeting for history previous to the announcement of the new syllabi. More than a dozen historians are participated in the meeting including Mr. MGS Narayanan, DN Tripathi, AR Khan and SK Mittal. Some of them opined that the quality of the syllabi is not worth the long exercise behind it.

Some historians found fault with the chronological sequence in the syllabus for Medieval and Modern India. The revision of the syllabus resulted an outbreak of nation-wide agitations before, claiming that it will result in the propagation of a particular school of thought.
