44 Universities Lost Deemed Status List of De-recognised Deemed Universities

Government told the Supreme Court that it decided to De-recognise 44  Deemed Universities in the country on charges that they were being run as an organizations, owned or controlled by one family, rather than on academic considerations.

The task force has recommended that the 44 deemed universities which are to be de-recognised “should revert status quo ante as an affiliated college of the state university of jurisdiction so that students would be able to complete their ongoing courses and obtain degree from the affiliating university.

According to the Centre, most of the 44 erring deemed universities were offering post-graduate and undergraduate courses that are “fragmented with concocted nomenclatures”  and seats “disporortionately” increased beyond the actual intake capacity.

I have been living in Delhi for the last many years, and have seen Jaypee grow from strength to strength. What started as just another engineering college a few years back is now a brand among both aspirants and recruiters!

As far as deemed status is concerned, it doesnt really matter. Jaypee Noida is a brand and will remain so leading it excellent placement season every year

And as we all can see on their site…JIIT is still a deemed university and is only given a warning …Matter is still in the court…and moreover, its name will more or less be cleared from the list because of huge political Backup and obviously the JAYPEE group backing up the college

    Dear academicians and students
I am a teaching faculty in a self financing college in Kollam, Kerala. Nowadays only a very few educational institutions have a concern about their students’ educational quality and future. A big salute for the central government for doing so. The govt also needs to have a regular monitoring of such things. Then only the other Universities would build a live academic schedules and sustain the requisite facilities in their campuses.
