Gujarat Government denies option for examination in riot - hit areas

The Gujarat Government continues its discriminatory moves on minorities, for the last count it had decided to withdraw the option given to the minority students of the riot-stricken areas, of appearing by the secondary and higher secondary board examinations - which began on March 18th - in a better frame of mind later.

Earlier such an option was given to students following many representations from minority communities. According to them many students are still in the relief camps and are not in the right frame of mind to take the Board examinations. But the decision was withdrawn within 24 hours , except in Ahmedabad and Baroda in view of continued disturbed situations.

This decision is thrown students into a fix, since in addition to Ahmedabad and Baroda about a dozen other towns and villages are still under indefinite curfew and the school-going children would be forced to appear at the examination centres inside the curfew bound areas.
