Students who have completed their Class-12 examinations, with any subject combination, are eligible for applying to the Bachelors course in any institute. This means that the field is open for students of all streams.
Entry into the Bachelors level courses offered by the some institutes is through a nation wide joint entrance test, which is conducted in April—May each year. Around 3,000 students are chosen through this entrance examination each year.
Apart from the common entrance examination, other prominent institutes may conduct their own entrance tests. These tests cover verbal and numerical ability, reading comprehension, as well as analytical and visual reasoning. There is no set syllabus for these tests as these are basic abilities present to different extents in everyone.
