organisational change means the disequilibrium in the environmental conditions of the organisation. These changes disturb the equilibrium of situation and environment in which the individuals and groups exist. To overcome this disequilibrium and to return to a state of balance requires people logo through a period of adaptation and adjustment to the change. But the man is dynamic and changes should be according to the environmental situation. He needs introduction of changes in the organisation as soon as he gets education or training in the adaptation of the new techniques in the interest of the organisation. The introduction of these changes again creates disequilibrium and problem of adjustment is realised and it is the duty of the management to facilitate the adjustment, especially prior lo initiation of the change. If this inevitable process of adjustment is facilitated prior to initiation of change, so that a new state of equilibrium can be quickly achieved, then little or no resistance usuallv results. II management ignores fundamental face of human behaviour and does nothing to help people adjust, resistance will occur.
