entry to iit

Hi,I am persuing my BE in civil engg and willing to do M tech after graduation, but I am really worried about my low percentage in third and fourth semesters, do the iit's considers my 3rd and 4th sem results during admission? I am asking this question because I have heard somewhere that only 5,6,7 and 8 th sem result does matters during admission to mtech.
