BEd graduates palnning to intensify agitation Feb: 6: The BEd and BPEd Graduates' Action Committee of the Karnataka State has condemned the government for releasing the unrefined provisional list for the appointment of high school teachers .Committee State president Girish Kadlewad charged that although the government had pointed out earlier that the list would be revised, it had released the unrevised list on Saturday. The contention of the committee was that many discrepancies had crept into the list, because of 'unscientific' method involved in selecting the candidates which is detrimental to the BEd graduates from the Hyderabad-Karnataka region. The committee had demanded that a State-level common entrance test (CET) type of exams should be held to recruit teachers, as it feels that there were discrepancies in the internal marks awarded by different universities in the State. Due to such discrepancies, the BEd graduates from some universities had got more marks than students from others. Also, the Karnatak University had not appointed the co-ordination committee, which kept a tab on the internal marks awarded by the individual BEd colleges. As this committee was not there, these colleges had awarded the maximum marks in internal assessment to their students, which had proved to be a boon to them, the committee had charged. |
