India helps Afghan for Revamping Education Sector:

New Delhi - Nov 24th : India gave an assurance to Afghan Education Minister here today that the Indian help for reconstruction of Afghan will be extended also to the Education sector.

The union minister for HRD, Mr. Murali Manohar Joshi told Mr. Yonus Qanooni, that as the first step the government will send a team of officials to study the requirements.. The officials will have discussions with Afghan counterparts to make a framework for assistance in rebuilding the education network.

The Afghan minister sought Indian assistance in English Teachers, Scholarships and Textbooks. Mr.. Joshi offered the assistance mainly in Text books, sice the National open School is having Urdu version also. Regarding teachers, Mr. Joshi said, they need extensive training regading the customs and practices of afghan. Nothing concrete was offered on the request for scholarships.
