EDUCATION
LOAN SCHEME
A student, an Indian National in the age group of upto 30
years with first class academic career for the purpose of
pursuing higher technical/professional courses in India
and abroad can be granted a Term Loan facility on very lucerative
and easy terms. Education Loan is allowed for the following
purposes as well.

required for the course undertaken by the borrowing
scholar.

Insurane
Premium for a policy on the life of borrowing student
for an amount of not less than 100% of the amount of
loan.

and lodging expenses.

fares for joining the course abroad.

Purchase
of computer essential for completion of course.
ELIGIBILITY
-
The
applicant shoule be an Indian National in the age group
of 30 years. However, in case of short term computer
diploma courses undertaken as part time, the upper ceiling
on age is not applicable.

Any
student who has secured admission in any institute of
repute and whose degree / diploma is recognised by University
/ Institute affiliated to any Centre / State statutory
body or recognised by AICTE (All India Council of Technical
Education) would be eligible for finance under the scheme.
AMOUNT
OF LOAN
For studies in India, a maximum loan amount of Rs. 7.50
lakh and for studies abroad, a maximum loan amount of Rs.
15.00 lakh is permissible.
For short term diploma courses in computer and related E-business
courses, the ceiling of loan amount is Rs. 50,000/-. Margin,
to be provided by the borrower, is NIL up to loan amount
of Rs. 4.00 lakh and 5% (For inland counses) and 15% (For
courses at Abroad) for loans above Rs. 4.00 lakh.
The loan amount is repayable in 84 equal monthly instalments
commencing from 12 months after completion the course or
6 months after getting job, whichever is earlier.
For Rate of Interest applicable for this product. 1% concession
in interest rate may be provided for moratorium period if
the loanee services the interest during period of study
/ moratorium. (Subject to change
